National Zoo of Bangladesh


Mirpur Zoo Dhaka is situated at Mirpur, the capital city of Bangladesh. It is 16 km a long way from the fundamental city. This is the biggest zoo in Bangladesh.

The Mirpur Zoo Dhaka is home to more than 2,000 creatures from 165 species. It is under Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, It has gazed its excursion at the High Court premises in Dhaka in 1964, and moved to its present area in 1974 and has been produced and enhanced throughout the years.

The capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka is on of the important city of south Asia and one of the attractive tourist places of Bangladesh. It is the 7th mega city of the world. The city is known as the city of mosque. During the moghol period it was called Jahangirmagar, the principal city of Bangladesh.

This attractive city was founded in 1608 AD. The bank of the river buriganga is the location of this city. It is the centre for engineering, marketable, cultural, educational and political activities for Bangladesh.

Mosque: With thousands of beautiful and ancient mosques Dhaka is called the city of mosque. The well-known ones are the national mosque of Bangladesh called Baitul Mukarram, 17 century’s 7 domed mosque, 18 century’s Star Mosque, Husani Dalan Mosque, Chawkbazar Masque etc. You will be amazed and refresh by seeing them. The mosques are well decorated and have panoramic view.



Churches: Though Bangladesh is a Muslim country but Hindu, Muslim, Buddha, Christian live here with peach and unity. As a result there are several historical Churches in this city. Among them Armenian Church (situated in 1781 A.D.), former Holy Rosary Church (Situated in 1677A.D.) and Ramona’s St. Mary’s Cathedral are more highlighted.
Hindu Temples: There are hundreds of temples with historical, ancient and wonderful showing in the city. The most notable of them are Ramkrishna Mission, Dhakeshwary Temple etc.

Central Shahid Miner: Central Shahid Miner is situated in Dhaka University, the symbol of the martyrs of historic language movement of Bangladesh. The movement was took place in 21 February 1952. UNESCO declared the day as the International Mother Language Day. Every year thousands of people come here with flower bucket to respect the martyrs in the day.

Sonargaon: Previous capital of Bangladesh Sonargaon is located about 29 kilometers far from Dhaka. There is a folk art and craft museum reserving various elements of ancient capital and etc.

Dhaka University: Dhaka University is the central educational institution. Its history is as far as 1901. Every national movement is started from here. So it bears an historical importance of Bangladesh.

National Poet's Graveyard: You will see the Graveyard of Kazi Nazrul Islam the national poet of Bangladesh by traveling this city. It is situated just adjacent of the central Mosque of Dhaka University.

Lalbag Fort: Mughal emperor Aorangazab’s son Mohammad Azam built Lalbag Fort in 1678 A.D. During the first war of independence in 1857 A.D. the fort was the scene of bloody battle. Lalbag Mosque, the tomb of Paribibi, Hammam of Nawab Shaista Khan and Audience are the great memorials.

Ahsan Manzil: The home of the Nawab of Dhaka and a hushed outsider of many actions is this Ahsan Manjil. It is a model of the nation's rich enlightening legacy. The location of this Manjil is the bank of Buriganga River. Now it is a museum. There is 31 rooms with huge dome and 23 galleries displaying furniture and household articles used by Nawab. Your mind will be refreshed by seeing this panoramic scene.

Bahadur Shah Park: this park was built in 1857 to honor the martyrs of the first liberation war (1857-1859) against the British rule.

National Botanical Garden: National Botanical Garden is situated at Morpur east of the Dhaka Zoo. You will able to meet natural scenery out of the city in this garden.

Mohasthangarh Bogura, Bangladesh


The gateway to the north Bangla, Bogura is the northern district of Rajshahi Division. Within hundreds of attractive tourist places it is noteworthy. As the capital of ancient kingdom Pundravardhana, it is the important place of the country. It was 1280BC when a powerful prince of the Pundra family ruled over Pundravardhana. It was a kingdom of Eastern India. In the Ramayana, Mahabharata and the variety of Puranas the name “Pundravardhana” comes frequently. Now a day Bogura is a business point and has many industries.
In 1931 a marble block bearing six lines in Prakrit in Brahmi script was discovered. Here dates Mahasthangarh to at least 3rd century BC. The prepared area was in use till the 18th century AD. There is a rampart 11-13 meters higher than the surrounding area looked like a jangle clad. You will refresh by visiting here.

The majar of Hazrat Shah Sultan Balkhi Mahiswar constructed at location of a Hindu temple is situated at this unique place. Hazrat Balkhi (Rahmatullah Alaihe) came here with a goal of diffusion Islam among non-Muslims. In this angle he was a Darbesh. He converted the people of the region to Islam and established here.

Another name of this place is Mahasthan Garh. Mahasthan means the place that has exceptional sacredness and Garh means citadel. From a Sanskrit text of 13th century christened Vallalcharita Mahasthan was first brought up. In an anonymous text Karatoya mahatmya it is also stated. An administrative decree revealed the place as Mahastangarh in 1685.
Mahasthangarh is located on the Bogra-Rongpur Highway, 11km north of Bogra. It takes 4.5 hours from Dhaka to Bogra via Bangabandhu Jamuna Bridge across Jamuna River. From here you can go to Mahasthangarh via bus and for local movement Rickshaws are available here. It is possible to return Dhaka by travelling in a hired car if you don’t want to visit Somapura Mahavihara at Paharpur in the district of Naogaon.

Parasuramer Prasad: The relics of three occupation periods between 800 - 1800AD are enclosed here.
Khodarpathar Bhita: Here you will able to see some pieces of stone carved with inspiring Buddha along with followers in anjali recuperated.

Bairagir Bhita: It built / rebuilt in 4th to5th century AD, 6th to 7th century, 9th 10th century and 11th century. Base ruins resembling temples, two sculptured sand stone pillars of 4th to 11th century have been recovered.
Khulnar Dhap: It is located 700 meters west of the bastion in the village Chenghispur. It has exposed the remaining of a temple. From the name of Khulana the wife of Chad Shadagar it is named.

Bhimer Jangal: Under the police station Gobindaganj Bhimer Jangle a well known edge begins from the north-east corner of Bogra town and takings northwards for at least 30 miles to a swampy place called Damukdaher bit. Within many other looking sites is a wonderful heritage.

Cox's Bazar sea beach, Bangladesh

Cox’s Bazar is a district city in Bangladesh. It is also a fishing harbor of the country. The main attraction of this district is the world longest sea beach. Having 125 kilometers steady sandy beach and calm angle, it has stolen the hart of the tourist of the world. The location of the beach is 150 kilometers south of the business docks Chittagong. The current Cox’s Bazar came from the name of Captain Heran Cox who was an officer of East India Company. However this wonderful place is linked with Dhaka and Chittagong by air and road. You can reach here from Dhaka within 60munits by air and 10-12 hours by bus on the other hand from chittagong it will take 4-5 hours to reach this unique place. As the tourist capital you will get here pleasant seafood, surfing impression, multi-colored Buddhist temples and clans, soaring rock faces thus will refresh your mind.

Another attractive spots near Cox’s Bazar:

St. Martin Island: In the north-east side of the Bay of Bangle and about 9 Kilometers south of the lean of the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf cape, this small island to be found. This very island is only coral island in Bangladesh. From the mouth of Nuf River it is about 8 km west of the northwest seaside of Mayanmar. Narikel jinjira(Coconut Island) is the local name of this island. This attractive Island has turn out to be a popular spot in the country. Keary-Sindbad, Sea-Truck and Kutubdia these three shipping liners lope daily voyages to the island. Either from Cox’s Bazar or from chittagong visitors can book their tour. This island is the living place of the corals and a number of endangered types of turtles, some of which are gotten only on this Island.

Ramu: Among a lot of tourist spots Ramu is the fantastic place. It is a village with considerable Buddhist population. The location of this village is about 10 kilometers from Cox’s Bazar. Handicrafts and homemade cigars of this place are so much famous. You will find here khyangs, monasteries and pagodas in which the images of Buddha in bronze, gold and other metals with precious stones are noticeable. On the bank of the Baghkhali River one of the most attractive temples is located. You will find in it a large bronze statue of Buddha. Thirteen feet high this statue is located on a six feet high platform. Like houses craftsmen make handmade cigars in their pagoda and weavers carry out their buy and sell in open workshops.

Moheshkhali: It is a small island of the Cox’s Bazar beach. 268 square kilometers island offers you a panoramic attractive splendor. It is covers by a range of short hills and they are about 300 ft high. You will also able to see here a temple of Shiva, Adinath Temple, and a Buddhist pagoda.

Bandarban: After driving 4 hours by bus you will able to reach Bandarban. It is very exciting place to visit. The largest temple in Bangladesh called the Buddha Dhatu Jadi is placed here. In the style of South-East this wonderful temple is made and the second largest Buddhist statue in located here. Shoilo Propat at Milanchari is a interesting place which is also found in this magnificent position. Without it you con enjoy here a plentiful temples,  Ujanipara Vihar, the Rajvihar (royal vihar) at Jadipara , Kyachlong Lake, Prantik Lake. Moreover your mind will refresh by a boat ride on the river Sangu.
Teknaf: This wonderful place is located by the side of Naf River. This is also an end point of Cox’s Bazar beach. This nice river flows between Bangladesh and Myanmar. travelers come here to have a river journey along this beautiful river.

Kuakata, Bangladesh


Kuakata is a wonderful place for tourists in Bangladesh. It is located in Potuakhali district. Sunset and sunrise is found from the wide sea beach of Kuakata. From Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh it is about 320kms south, and about 70kms from the district headquarters. Total beach is 6kms wide and 30kms long.




The name Kuakata came from “kua” means well. Rakhain settlers dug it for collecting drinking water. They landed on Kuakata seaside from Arakan (Mayanmar) in 18th century by the Mughals. After some days it has become the tradition of digging “kua” among the nearest Rakhain tribes for drinking water.

In Bangladesh, it is known as “Sagorkonna” means the daughter of the sea. The extended bit of dark, patterned sand stretches for about 30 km. The long and wide beach at Kuakata has a archetypal ordinary scenery. This sandy beach has moderate slopes into the Bay of Bengal. Kuakata is also a shelter for drifting winter birds.

An evergreen mangrove forest and fragment of the original Kuakata called Gongamati Reserved Forest is situated on the eastern end of the beach. The Rakhains established here in 1784, when Kuakata was a part of Sundarbans but now you will have to go about 1 hour by speed boat to reach Sundarbans. You can arrive at Gongamoti by bike or on foot while you can see a lot of fishing boat trawling the seaside. You can achieve the experience of fishing by going to the boat if you able to manage the fishermen.

Hindu and Buddhist communities consider Kuakata as the place of pilgrimage. At the celebration of 'Rush Purnima' and 'Maghi Purnima' numerous disciples disembark here. The pilgrims take holy bath at the bay and participate in the traditional fairs on these two occasions. You can also visit the Buddhist temple. It is 100 years old, here the statue of Goutama Buddha and 200 years old wells are located.

Another important place is fisherman village where you can earn the practical knowledge about the lifestyle of fisherman. It is impossible from anywhere else. Here you can purchase fresh hilsha fish from coming fishermen from the sea. You will also get the cooked hilsha fish from nearest restaurant that is ready to eat.





The government and the local businessmen have developed the beach as though the visitors can visit this wonderful place with pleasure. At the present time the local people are most helpful to the travelers. The communication way has developed extensively. The decree and organize circumstances in the unfasten beach, has enhanced notably due to set up a police station in 2007.
